SCHOOL COUNCILS

School Council 2011/12.
The School Council is made up of a boy and a girl from each year group in the school, beginning in Year 2.
The School Council are part of the pupil voice within school, listening to the views of all children and communicating these clearly. They decide on which charities they would like to support throughout the year and think about ways to raise money.
At the start of each academic year, each class elects new members, choosing from willing volunteers! This year's School Council is:
- Year 2: Hannah S and James Y
- Year 3: Amber H and Ross W
- Year 4: Bryony H and Dominic B
- Year 5: Abigail T and Thomas T
- Year 6: Louis C and Amber K
Some people in the school council have special roles to make sure our meetings run smoothly. This year Louis is Chairman, Amber K is Secretary and Amber H is Treasurer.

ECO COUNCIL MEETING ACTION POINTS
Meeting on 3 Febraury 2011
- Apologies from Ben Griffiths.
- Children discussed various activities which they would like to focus on during the coming year. We read through the Eco Council action plan to focus on areas we wish to develop.
- All children agreed on having an outdoor area to grow vegetables as they feel this will be of benefit to the whole school. We discussed the suitable area for this and how we will first need to prepare the soil before any planting can take place. All the Eco Council wish to be involved in this gardening project.
- Another area the children wish to focus on is developing a wildlife garden in the school grounds to encourage butterflies and bees. Mrs Milton suggested that this was a project where the eco club could become more involved after half term and during the summer term.
- All children agreed that Oliver Hale and Oliver Brighton are doing an excellent job of ensuring that food waste is taken to the compost bin every day. Both boys are still happy to undertake this daily job.
- Eco council will meet again after half term.
