THE FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The Friends Association was started in 2003 to help advance the education of the children at Callow End School by developing good relationships between parents and staff and to engage in fundraising activities in order to provide facilities or equipment which will enhance the education of the pupils.
It has a constitution which is registered with the Charity Commission and we hold an AGM in September. The Officers of the Association are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and two other committee members. All parents are members of the Association and are welcome to attend the AGM.
The Friends hold fundraising events throughout the school year and we rely on the support of parents, staff and pupils to make these events successful. We are also fortunate to get support from other people in our local community for many events.
The money raised at these events all goes to benefit the children at the school. We subsidise outside trips and events, sponsor the Christmas Party and provide equipment for the school. We purchased the little houses in the playground where the children sit to have lunch or chat and we recently provided games for all the classrooms to use during wet playtimes.
